I cannot lie, I am looking to get a SmartWatch soon and trying to decide between the Nixon Mission and the Samsung Gear S3. I had a Moto 360 1st gen and really liked it except for the fact the battery could not make it through1 day. The Nixon Mission now runs Android Wear 2.o while the Gear S3 runs Samsung’s Tizen OS. You can run the Facer app on either of these which gives you the ability to run thousands of watch faces. it’s like having a new watch every day.
Edit: I just ordered the Samsung Galaxy Gear S3 Frontier! Expect a full review next week!

We’ve had the larger Green Mountain Grill Daniel Boone model which requires 120V for almost 2 years now, but GMG also makes a smaller portable Pellet Smoker that runs off 12v. This would be great for tailgating and camping (or even a small apartment!). It’s WiFi enabled and you can control it with your smartphone. (Related-> Beer Injected Brisket)

Help Dad have peace of mind when he’s not home or sleeping by giving him a Netgear Arlo Pro Wireless Security Camera System to keep an eye on things. (Full Arlo Pro review here -> https://www.wemustbegeeks.com/netgear-arlo-pro-wireless-security-camera-review/ ) We’ve used ours to find out we had mice and a ringtail cat in our attic! We’ve caught foxes and coyotes on it as well.
Give Dad the ability to listen to some quality tunes when he’s working in the garage or out in the yard. This Cambridge Angle 3 Plus has a 30 hour play time and is water resistant!
